Product Details

  • From official MUTCD signs for public roadways, to signs for your driveway or parking lots, we have solutions for every application.
  • All the guidance you need is provided below. If you need further assistance, please call 1-877-775-5939 and one of our product experts will guide you to the right solution.
  • MUTCD 2B.13 requires signs to be in speed increments of 5 mph, have black letters on a white background, and a minimum size of 30"h x 24"w for single lane conventional roads. Signs posted within parking lots can be a smaller size (not having to meet MUTCD).
  • What header do you need?
  • Choosing the Speed Limit Header depends on the road condition, geographical area, crash experience and pedestrian traffic of the location where the sign will he placed. The 5-15 MPH Speed Limit Signs are appropriate for roads with high pedestrian activity, parking lots, school zones, work zones and rural areas with narrow curvy roads. The 20-30 MPH Speed Limit Signs are more appropriate for urban areas. For unique conditions, you can customize your own.
  • What size do you need?
  • Where space is limited the use of an 18"H x 12"W sign may be the only option. But where space is not a problem, we would always recommend at least 24"H x 18"W as it provides the necessary visual stimulus to effectively manage traffic. For conventional roadways, at least 30"H x 24"W sign is required to meet MUTCD requirements.
  • What material do you need?
  • Aluminum is the most popular choice as its durability and rust-proof property makes it ideal for a wide variety of applications outdoors. Steel is the most durable, as it won’t bend if hit or vandalized. Plastic is lightweight and the least expensive option and is ideal for parking lot use.
  • What reflectivity option do you need?
  • High-Intensity and Engineer-Grade are both visible for nighttime conditions but choosing between the two comes down to the visibility range. For 500 feet visibility, we recommend the Engineering grade. For MUTCD compliance, high intensity reflectivity is required which gives 1000 feet visibility.
  • Why not laminate?
  • Duroshield offers a lifetime guarantee and is the best defense against fading, graffiti, and chemicals.
  • How do you mount it?
  • Our Speed Limit Signs are pre-drilled with two centered mounting holes on the top and bottom part. These 3/8" holes fit the standard signposts that are commonly used in the market. To view additional products to ensure that your sign is installed and displayed properly, click here.
