Globally Harmonized System (GHS)
GHS, or Globally Harmonized System, is a world regulation for classifying and communicating chemical hazards (OSHA 29 CFR 1910.1200 Hazard Communication Standard). Every business that stores or uses chemicals must comply with GHS labeling standards which clearly defines what the hazard is, and how workers should protect themselves.
The purpose of GHS is to simplify chemical hazard identification, especially during shipping and transport, regardless of spoken language. This new system seeks to accomplish this through a homogenized set of GHS pictograms, GHS warning labels, custom GHS signs, and GHS safety data sheet stations.
