Keep Clear Of Fire Extinguisher- Fire Equipment Glow Signs

Keep clear of fire extinguisher sign informs individuals to stay clear of extinguisher. Sign is designed to safely guide individuals throughout a facility in the event of a power outage.
  • Wording - FIRE EXTINGUISHER AREA IN FRONT MUST BE KEPT CLEAR FOR 36" (fire extinguisher symbol)
  • What does OSHA say?
  • OSHA requires extinguishers to be identified so that they are readily accessible to employees during emergencies. With this in mind, fire extinguisher signs should be mounted free from obstructions at all times to enable quick identification of extinguishers. Ideally, fire extinguisher signs should be mounted at eye level, but these can be mounted higher if obstructions at eye level are present.
  • What size do you need?
  • Choose the correct size that corresponds with your required viewing distance. If you are unsure, most customers choose 10" x 14". If you know your viewing distance, 7" x 10" is best at 15 ft. or less, 10" x 14" is good up to 25 ft., and choose 14" x 20" for distances farther than 25 ft.
  • What sign is right for you?
  • Vinyl Adhesive – If the surface you plan to use is smooth then this material is a perfect the solution. 3 mil vinyl signs have an aggressive adhesive for permanent mounting and great on drywall, flat metal or other smooth surfaces. Full adhesive backing ensures a secure flush mounting.
  • Plastic – This universal material is lightweight, flexible and durable for most industrial applications. Four 7/32" corner holes provide secure installation (mounting screws sold separately). Thick .060" plastic is flexible enough to conform to curved surfaces. Great for mounting on concrete or cinder block walls, corrugated steel walls or fencing.
  • Aluminum – Heavy gauge .063" aluminum signs are our most popular sign material. These long lasting signs will never rust or corrode. Four 7/32" corner holes provide secure installation (mounting screws sold separately). Aluminum is perfect for heavy industrial applications including areas with high chemical exposure, outdoor applications and vandal resistant.
  • Magnetic – If you have a metal surface consider our magnetic material option. It can easily be applied and removed as needed. Ideal for steel doors, tanks, drums, cabinets, and machines. The magnetic material is .020" thick and is flexible enough to stick to gently curved surfaces.
  • Reflective or Non-Reflective?
  • Choosing where you need a reflective material or not comes down to the availability of good consistent lighting. For all outdoor applications we would always recommend choosing Engineer Grade Reflective as it provides up to 500 feet of visibility in nighttime conditions. For indoor where lighting is optimal and visual distraction are minimal, then a non-reflective material makes for a good choice.
  • What is the difference between Standard Glow and Super Glo?
  • Standard Glow signs light up instantly in the event of a power outage. It glows for up to 6 hours without electricity. Super Glo charges in 5 minutes from any light source and glows for over 30 hours! Super Glo is also 5x brighter than Standard Glow signs.
  • Why not laminate?
  • Our exclusive Duroshield Topcoat option offers a lifetime guarantee. It's the best defense against abrasion, fading, graffiti, and chemicals. So for a few dollars more, why won't you?
