Pedestrian Crossing Signs & Crosswalk Signs

Increase driver and pedestrian safety by clearly identifying crosswalk areas

It is estimated that there were over 7,500 pedestrian fatalities last year. Pedestrian crossing signs provide advance notice of pedestrian activity, alerting drivers to slow down or stop when pedestrians are present. Emedco is dedicated to pedestrian crosswalk safety through our extensive inventory of highly-visible pedestrian crossing signs.

Whether you're looking for a fluorescent "Watch for Pedestrians" sign or a flashing LED pedestrian crossing sign, Emedco has exactly what you need to ensure people can cross your parking lots or roadways with peace of mind.

Not sure which pedestrian crossing sign you should use? Contact us today for guidance in selecting the right crosswalk sign for your property.

What are the MUTCD guidelines for Pedestrian Crossing Signs?

The MUTCD has standards for both Yield Here to Pedestrians signs and In-Street Pedestrian Crossing Signs.

Yield Here to Pedestrians signs: Must be placed 6.1 to 15 m (20-50ft) in advance of the nearest crosswalk line if yield lines are used in advance of an unsignalized marked midblock crosswalk.

In-Street Pedestrian Crossing signs: Must not be used at signalized locations (such as 4-way traffic intersections). “Stop For" legends are only permitted in states where the state law requires drivers to stop for pedestrians in the crosswalk. With the exception of red “STOP" or “YIELD" legends, all signs must have a black legend and border on either a white background or a fluorescent yellow/green background. If placed in the roadway, sign supports must comply with the latest breakaway requirements set by the AASHTO.

Both Emedco’s Diamond-Grade In-Street Pedestrian signs and Yield Here to Pedestrian signs are MUTCD-compliant. For detailed information regarding their standards, visit the MUTCD website .
