Around 20,000 cases of occupational hearing loss are reported each year.According to OSHA regulations, employees are required to wear hearing protection devices (HPDs) in areas with noise levels higher than 85 decibels, especially if exposure is longer than the usual eight-hour work shift. Entrances to these areas should also be clearly marked with safety signs and PPE signs to make sure anyone entering the premises is aware of the noise hazards.
