Hard Hats

The Occupational Safety Hazard Administration (OSHA) mandates that hard hats are worn whenever there is the danger of possible head injury to workers. Hard hats are made of high-density polyethylene and feature nylon crown straps and sizing buckles, all for protecting the head from falling or piercing objects and electrical exposure. Since most workers requiring head protection are under extreme heat for long periods of time, hard hats have a unique anatomical design that increases ventilation and keeps the head cooler.

Make sure that your workers are effectively equipped against head injuries by following the strict safety standards provided by OSHA and ANSI for hard hats. Emedco's selection of hard hats conforms to all OSHA and ANSI Z89.1.1997 requirements for impact, penetration, and electrical insulation.

Head injuries at work can be very dangerous and even fatal. Emedco’s wide range of head safety equipment includes the three OSHA hard hat classes to help protect your workers from possible injuries.

  • Class A hard hats offer protection against impact from falling materials and penetration by piercing objects. They also provide limited voltage protection up to 2,200 volts.
  • Class B hard hats are the best choice for electrical hazards, with high-voltage shock and burn resistance reaching up to 20,000 volts.
  • Class C hard hats have no electrical resistance capabilities, but they provide lightweight comfort and impact protection.

ANSI follows the same classification, only with different class names. The ANSI hard hat classes are Class G (General Helmets), Class E (Electrical Helmets), and Class C (Conductive Helmets).

Hard hats protect the wearer's head from bumps on low ceilings and injuries from falling objects. These are considered one of the most important kinds of personal protective equipment or PPE and should never be neglected from being worn in high-risk areas at work. Workers and visitors to your facility should always be reminded to wear safety headgear when it is needed. Some safety hard hats have slots to accommodate visors for the face, and can be accessorized with a lamp or labels.

You can find these hard hats in many different colors and designs here at Emedco.
