Custom Warning Labels

1. What is the difference between the 4 label styles available?
Each type of label serves a difference purpose. OSHA labels will help you comply with OSHA 1910.145,
OSHA bi-lingual communicate warnings in both English and Spanish, ANSI labels will help you comply with the recommended ANSI Z535 Committee on Safety Signs/Labels, and custom labels are designed to meet your exact specifications, wording, etc. For more information about label styles, see Choosing a Label Style.

2. How do I know which label header to select for my Custom Vinyl Warning label?
Identifying your property, from tools and warehouse equipment to office furniture and computers, will help you: Once you select a style, only the appropriate headers for that style will be available for selection. For the uses of each type of header, see Choosing a Label Header. (back to top)

3. How do I mount my label?
Vinyl labels have a strong adhesive backing which will quickly and easily adhere to dry, clean surfaces.

4. Why can't I change the background and text color on my label?
If you choose to design an OSHA or ANSI label, only the appropriate background and text colors will be used so that you are always creating a compliant label. If you want the versatility of different background and text colors, you should choose to design a custom label. (back to top)

5. What are the Warning Labels made of?
These labels are made of 4-mil self-adhesive vinyl for use indoors or out. They won't fade in sunlight and can endure temperatures of -40° F to 176° F. The strong adhesive backing adheres quickly and firmly.

6. How do I find the appropriate pictogram for my specific application?
Go to the "Select Pictogram Category" and choose the category you feel most accurately describes the pictogram you want. Categories include: Arrows, Biohazards, Chemical Right-to-Know, Exit & Fire, First Aid & Eye Wash, Hazard Communication, Interior, Lock-out, Machine Safety, Protective Wear, Recycle, Security, Smoking, Traffic Control. When the category is chosen, you will see thumbnail designs of each pictogram appear under the category name with a scroll bar left and right for viewing the entire range of pictograms available. 7. What if I want a different pictogram other than those that I see available?
There are over 60 different pictograms to choose from. We've selected a wide-range of the most popular and up-to-date OSHA and ANSI graphics and made them available in this application. If there is something different that you would like, call our customer service department at 1-800-571-2596 to inquire.

8. Can I order multiple label designs with this "Design Your Own" tool?
Yes, you can order different label designs. You will need to enter each design as a separate order. Create your first label, select quantity and submit order to shopping cart. Then, return to the "Customize Online Warning Label" page, change the label design and quantity if necessary and submit to shopping cart again. (back to top)

9. How do I change my design once my design has already been submitted to the shopping cart?
If you need to change your design after you've already submitted your design to the shopping cart, you must delete the design in your shopping cart, go back to the design application and redesign your label and resubmit to the shopping cart. This is a safety feature we've built into the program to ensure the accuracy of your order. (back to top)

10. How many lines of text are available on my label?
Custom and OSHA labels can have up to 3 lines of text, OSHA Bi-Lingual can have up to 2, and ANSI labels can have up to 3 lines of text. (back to top)

11. What is the maximum number of characters per line?
The number of characters per line depends on the number of words and number of lines. The application is designed to automatically allow the biggest character font size for the number of characters and lines typed into the design application. (back to top)

12. How can I see the full height of the design screen?
In Internet Explorer, hit F11 for the full-screen mode. To return to normal mode, hit F11 again. In Netscape, right click in the lower frame of Netscape and select "open target in new window" from the pop-up menu.

13. Can I send my design to someone else?
Yes, we've supplied an "e-mail design" icon in the top grey bar. If you click on the icon, it will allow you to enter an e-mail address and message so you can e-mail your design to a co-worker, supervisor, purchasing agent, etc. (back to top)

14. When I print the page I get a black box where the sign design is?
To print the background image and colors, in Internet Explorer go to "Internet Options" and check "Print background colors and images". (back to top)

15. Will I receive a proof of my completed design?
No, a proof is not needed. The design you create will be manufactured to your specifications and therefore serves as your proof. Before submitting your order to the shopping cart, please review your label carefully. (back to top)

16. How long will it take to receive my order?
We process all Custom Warning Label orders to ship same day. Therefore, depending on your geographic location, you will normally receive your custom order within 2-3 business days. (back to top)

17. Is the color I see on screen the actual color of my label?
We have tried to represent the colors on screen as closely as possible to the actual label colors. But, some screen colors vary so there may be a slight variation in the actual label versus the color depicted on your screen. (back to top)

18. I can't remember what label options I selected in my last order. How can I find out?
A helpful tool we've added to our site is order history. If you select history from the orders tab and enter your username and password, you will be able to access past order information. And, you can always contact one of our customer service representatives with questions about previous orders. (back to top)

19. What if I design my label(s) but cannot order until I get approval?
You will need to finalize your design and submit to your shopping cart. Any orders in your shopping cart can be saved as 'pending'. This gives you the ability to get additional information if needed (i.e. purchase order number), confirm quantity needed or to just save to order at a later date. All prices are good for 30 days and all pending orders will be saved for one year. (back to top)

20. What do I do after I finish designing my label?
You should review your design carefully (Note: The label you see will serve as your proof and will be designed to your specifications). Choose your order quantity and click >add to shopping cart. After you add your design to your shopping cart, you can return to the "Customize Online" page to design and order more labels, continue browsing our large selection of product offerings, or proceed to checkout.
