Product Features - Do Not Enter Traffic Signs

All the guidance you need is provided below. If you need further assistance, please call 1-877-775-5939 and one of our product experts will guide you to the right solution.

What size do you need?

Where space is limited the use of a 12 x 12 inch sign may be the only option. But where space is not a problem, we would always recommend at least 24 x 24 inches as it provides the necessary visual stimulus to effectively manage traffic. For municipal roadways/highways, at least 30 x 30 inches is required to meet MUTCD requirements.

What material do you need?

Aluminum is the most popular choice as its durability and rust-proof property makes it ideal for a wide variety of applications outdoors. Plastic is a good low cost alternative for traffic control within facilities where forklift trucks and other vehicles are in constant use.

Reflective or non-reflective?

Choosing where you need a reflective coating or not comes down to the availability of good consistent lighting. For all outdoor applications we would always recommend using Engineering grade as a minimum because it provides up to 500 feet of visibility in nighttime conditions. For indoor where lighting is optimal and visual distraction are minimal, then a non-reflective coating makes for a good choice. However, if the contrary is true, then make it safe by electing to create a visual impact with a reflective coating. For MUTCD compliance, we would recommend High Intensity Reflectivity coating as it gives 1000 feet of visibility. For public roads Diamond Grade is the standard you should adopt as it provides the best reflectivity and gives 1500 feet of visibility at nighttime.

Why not laminate?

Our exclusive Duroshield Topcoat option offers a lifetime guarantee. It’s the best defense against fading, graffiti, and chemicals. So for a few dollars more, why won’t you?

This is for a private farm road.

Engineer Grade Reflective makes the sign reflect light up to 500ft. of visibility, Hi Intensity reflects light up to 1000ft. of visability. Hi Intensity is used more in large areas and highways, Engineer grade is more for parking lots.
