WILLIAMSVILLE, NY (March 30, 2007) - Emedco, Inc., a leading direct marketer and manufacturer of safety and security communication products, has been named one of the "2007 Best Places to Work in Western New York" by Buffalo Business First, Western New York's top business newspaper. It is the second consecutive year Emedco has been named to the list, which includes many successful local banks, manufacturers, healthcare providers, and other service corporations.

To earn the prestigious local title, more than 100 Emedco employees nominated the company by completing a survey about their workplace. Sponsored by Quantam Research of Wichita, Kansas, the survey looked to identify companies that successfully retain and recruit employees and make them feel engaged in their work.

Survey questions touched on topics from teamwork and leadership, to advancement opportunities and fulfillment of personal goals. Employees were asked to respond to statements such as: "I trust the leaders of the organization to set the right course" and "The leaders of the organization value people as their most important resource."

Each of the 76 participating companies reached a specific statistically significant percentage of employee participation to qualify. From there, each business was named one of the "Best Places to Work in WNY" and categorized by size into six groups.

In its "X-tra Large" category, Emedco earned finalist status among 10 other business having 100-400 employees. Highlights of the company, noted in a special edition of Business First published March 30, said: "Emedco coaches and develops your current skill set as long as you display a willingness to learn," and "The business keeps getting better each year."
