    Filling cracks in asphalt driveway

Grass grows in the cracks, I have sprayed weed kill but the cracks are filled with dirt so grass grows back. Do I need to water hose all of dirt out of cracks and let dry before filling with asphalt filler?
    Asked by: Oscar
Although directions are included on the product container (see product recommendation below), an internet search of best practices advises, in addition to removing any vegetation present, blowing dirt and debris out of the crack (for example, with an air compressor) and evaporating moisture prior to treating. Utilizing a hose or pressure washer to remove debris is not recommended unless you can ensure that the area will be thoroughly dry prior to product application (i.e. letting the area dry during a stretch of hot, dry weather). Applying filler to a surface that may be damp underneath can lead to an increased risk of surface holes and cracks down the road.
